Pricing & payment
How much does a handyman cost at Tim's Toolbox?
Most jobs are billed at a flat $70 an hour, and estimates are always free. There's no trip charge in Parker, and for larger projects Tim can give you a flat quote up front so you know the full price before any work starts.
Is there a minimum charge or a minimum number of hours?
No. Tim's Toolbox has no minimum charge and no minimum number of hours, so a quick twenty-minute fix costs a lot less than a full hour. You only pay for the time your job actually takes.
How can I pay for the work?
Tim accepts cash, check, credit and debit cards, and digital payments like Venmo and Zelle, whatever is easiest for you. Payment is due once the work is finished and you're happy with it.
Do I pay extra for parts and materials?
Materials and parts are billed separately at cost, on top of the hourly rate. If you don't have what the job needs on hand, Tim can pick up the parts for you so you skip the trip to the store.
Can you give me a price over the phone or from a photo?
For common jobs like a TV mount, a faucet swap, or furniture assembly, Tim can often give you a ballpark over the phone or from a quick photo you text over. The final price is always confirmed before work begins, with no surprises.
What Tim does
What kind of jobs does a handyman do?
Just about everything on the typical home to-do list: drywall repair, TV mounting, furniture assembly, appliance installation, picture and shelf hanging, light plumbing and electrical, painting, carpentry and trim, doors and windows, plus fences, decks, gutters, and power washing outside. If it's a repair, an install, or an odd job around the house, there's a good chance Tim does it.
Do you need a license to do handyman work in Colorado?
Colorado does not issue a statewide handyman or general contractor license, so the everyday repairs and installs Tim handles, things like drywall, painting, flooring, fixture swaps, mounting, and assembly, are done legally without one. Work that needs a building permit or a licensed trade, such as major electrical panel work, gas lines, or structural changes, is referred out to a licensed specialist. Local permit rules vary by city, and Tim will tell you when a job calls for one.
Do you do electrical and plumbing work?
Tim handles light electrical like ceiling fans, light fixtures, dimmers, switches, and outlet swaps, and light plumbing like faucets, toilets, sinks, and garbage disposals. For anything bigger, such as panel work, rewiring, gas lines, or repiping, he'll point you to a licensed electrician or plumber he trusts.
What kinds of jobs won't you take?
Part of being honest is knowing where the handyman lane ends. Tim refers out major electrical panel work, gas lines, structural changes, roofing, sewer mains, and heavy concrete to licensed specialists. You still get the right person for the job, and a name Tim would use himself.
Do you mount TVs, install appliances, and assemble furniture?
Yes, those are some of the most requested jobs. Tim mounts TVs and hides the cords, installs dishwashers, ranges, over-range microwaves, washers, dryers, and disposals, and assembles furniture and equipment from IKEA, Wayfair, Amazon, and more.
Is any job too small?
No job is too small. With no minimum charge, the little fixes that have been nagging you, like a wobbly towel bar, a sticking door, or a single shelf, are exactly the kind of thing Tim is happy to knock out.
Can you handle a whole list of projects in one visit?
Absolutely, that's one of Tim's favorite kinds of work. Book a half-day or full-day block and he'll work down your honey-do list in priority order, so the whole thing gets crossed off in one trip.
Do you work with landlords, rentals, and property managers?
Yes. Tim handles make-ready repairs, turn work, and punch lists for landlords and property managers across the south metro, and he's a steady single point of contact for the ongoing small stuff a rental needs.
Scheduling & service area
What areas do you serve?
Parker is home base, and Tim serves the south Denver metro including Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Aurora, Littleton, Greenwood Village, Castle Pines, Englewood, Cherry Hills Village, Franktown, and Elizabeth. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask, the answer is usually yes.
How soon can you come out? Do you offer same-day service?
Tim aims to reply the same day and get most jobs on the schedule within a few days. For the fastest answer, call or text 720-505-6532 and let him know how urgent it is.
Do you charge a trip fee?
Estimates are free, and there's no trip charge anywhere in Parker. For the surrounding cities, any travel is folded into a fair, upfront price you approve before Tim heads out, so there's never a surprise line item.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Just clear a path to the work area and move any fragile items out of the way. If you've already bought a part or fixture, have it handy, and a quick photo of the job sent ahead of time helps Tim show up ready. He takes care of the rest, including cleanup.
What are your hours?
Tim's Toolbox is open Monday through Saturday, 7:30am to 6:00pm, and closed Sundays. You're welcome to call, text, or send the form anytime, and Tim will get back to you the same day when he can.
Trust & working with Tim
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. Every job is backed by the Tim's Toolbox satisfaction guarantee: if something isn't done right, Tim makes it right. The whole business runs on word of mouth, so standing behind the work matters more than any single invoice.
Will Tim show up when he says he will?
That's the whole point of "Not Just a Handyman." Tim shows up on time, keeps you posted, and lets you know right away if anything changes or if he runs into something unexpected. Reliable communication is part of the job.
Can I see reviews or references?
Tim's Toolbox is a growing local business building its reputation the honest way, one neighbor at a time. You can find and follow Tim's Toolbox LLC on Facebook, and if you've had a good experience, a quick review there helps other families find dependable help.
Is Tim's Toolbox locally owned, and who does the work?
Tim's Toolbox is locally owned and owner-operated out of Parker, so when you call, you're dealing with Tim directly, not a call center or a rotating crew. That's how he keeps the quality high and the prices fair.
